These service stations are located on a relatively narrow
stretch of road, and are reminiscent of the outer form of
the Walloon forestry centre
(01-279)
. In this case, how-
ever, the roofs of the ‘shell’ are dissociated. Made from
overlapping bands of corrugated stainless steel laid over
a series of large latticework arches, they provide cover
for the usual service station amenities: shops, petrol
pumps and a parking area.
