The project consists in the restoration and transformation into a guest house of the outbuildings of the Chateau de Seneffe – including the landscaping, the interior design, the planning and choosing of furniture and various equipment, including the linen and crockery.

The prospective guest house and the Chateau de Seneffe date from the 18th century. The renovation is carried out under the protection of the Belgian French Community. Seneffe, near the village of Feluy, is situated in the heart of a developing area in the Hainaut zone.

The guesthouse contains 18 bedrooms and/or studies, a living and dining room and a central courtyard set in a tranquil green park.

The laying of the courtyard provided an opportunity to transform an old moat, once used to humidify the wooden wheels of coaches, into a pond with fountain. The guest house of Petrofina, since Autumn 1992 welcomes participants at training seminars organised in the Research Centre at Feluy (also designed and engineered by Samyn and Partners). The guest house also welcomes groups, other than those on the training programme, such as professors, researchers and artists who participate in the cultural activities of the Belgian French Community.
