The building is intended for the training of handicapped persons in building crafts (bricklayers, carpenters, slate roofers, zinc workers, plumbers…).
As an extension of the existing complex, it includes an educational building and another structure accommodating a restaurant with a kitchen.
Classrooms are freely articulated on two levels and on a regular tartan grid (8.7 m / 0.9 m) ensuring a flexible use of the building.
Skylights provide natural zenithal lighting to reduce energy consumption.
The factorylike façades are covered with samples of materials used by the students. Some façades are covered with panels of different metals, others in various kinds of wood and some others in all types of glass or plastics.
Its flexibility allows the eventual use of the building to suit the other needs of the population.
