Project for HEC
/ Jouy-en-Josas (France)
/ 2007
Philippe Samyn’s project is located at the entrance
to the
hec
campus, perpendicular to a regional
thoroughfare and preceded by a vast reception zone.
It consists of a set of six parallel buildings separated
by terraces and is positioned along a large internal road
that serves the classrooms, administrative offices and
a group of auditoriums. The clarity and legibility of the
structural design are exemplary. The facades are made
up of insulating panels covered with white reinforced
and resistant mortar. The transparent metal and wood
structures that enclose them and extend around the
reception zone give the complex a feeling of great
lightness, which may also be found in the lobbies and
interior passageways.
