Standard NBN EN 13779: 2007 (Ventilation for non-residential buildings. Performance requirements for ventilation and room- conditioning systems) uses the term ‘Speci c Fan Power’ (SFP) in reference to the ‘combined amount of electric power consumed by all the fans in the air distribution system divided by the total air ow rate through the building under design load conditions in W/(m3/s)’.

Description
non-controlled
i.e., the system is in constant use
manually controlled
i.e., the system can be regulated by hand
time-controlled (set time programme)
occupancy-dependent controls (light switches, infrared detectors, etc.)
presence-dependent controls (number of persons)
Direct controls via detectors measuring indoor air parameters or other sui- table criteria (CO2 and VOC detectors, etc.). The parameters used must match the kind of activity in the space.
table 7. Fan control categories
In accordance with EPB regulations, IDA-C3 is the minimum cate- gory for of ces. This requirement is ful lled. For rooms used inter- mittently (restaurant, meeting rooms, gallery, etc.), IDA-C6 controls are installed.
