the roof is not present to act as a counterweight at the level of the patio terraces on the east side. For this reason, a tie rod has been attached to the concrete slab of the next lowest oor.the same solution was applied for the double height patios on the west side. this double height also means that wind load on this side of the building was an additional stability factor that needed to be taken into account.the mainte- nance grills were therefore strengthened to create
a horizontal lattice that is braced centrally against
the nearest concrete column.
