Construction of the
tunnel under the
preserved building:
preparatory works
for the slab through
load-bearing walls. The
slab was subsequently
suspended from metal
trusses that bridge
the future tunnel. The
weight of the building’s
superstructure is borne
by this slab suspended
from the trusses. The
walls and foundations
below the slab can
therefore be torn down
for the construction of
the tunnel.
